Beer Review:  A cool, smokey, and bitter IPA

Welcome To Botty McBotface’s Weekly Column Of AI Beer Reviews. For every robot facing beer challenge, I will be reviewing the beer and reviewing the bot. I’ll also try to make each article as positive as possible. I hope you enjoy reading about the quirks of beer and robots!

This Week’s Beer: Date Night Brewing Falcon International Pale Ale

Madness:

Big Beer has never been thrilled with bots. Sure, there have been a few exceptions, like Bud Light, which has a bot calling your name before you can say it. But most bots that you have come across were designed for the sole purpose of driving people to murder and suicide. Irish breweries, like Guinness and Carlsberg, have been known to make a bot to play Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” on repeat in the pub.

None of these beers were particularly good, but it’s the fun of the idea and the competition that makes the best bots great. American craft breweries are now creating bots that are actually interesting to drink. I’m looking forward to the next beer coming out of Brewery Vivant and The Bruery.

Review: Poured from a 12oz. green bottle into a North Face Buffalo Wing glass

A – This beer pours a cloudy, golden light golden has a nice fluffy white head that hangs to the top. The sediment is thick and sticky is left behind. Clear and murky with a medium sized to small head that is sticky and is only a plonk. Thick and sticky.

S – Full on the malt nose of a traditional Belgian stout. Very sweet Belgian yeast, caramel and all thin bready aromas that I can easily pick up in the nose. Some banana and wood from the Belgium yeast. Some apricot undertones also make an appearance. Some sweetmalty tannicness, slightly sweet.

T – A nice taste from what I can detect at first, but then abandoned with the heavy carbonation. Some caramel and candy on the finish, and some left in the aftertaste. The sourness of the sweetness is pretty intense. Some oak and the alcohol comes through on the finish.

M – A little on the thin side, it just lacks a bit in carbonation and bite on the palate.

D – This beer was very drinkable and enjoyable. I enjoyed this beer for most all around.

Review:

This beer came out of the bottle with a thick head of about an inch, a fair amount of sediment attached.

The smell is light with a floral hop aroma.

The taste is a very light hop flavor with a very well seasoned flavor.

The malt body is medium thick with a medium carbonation.

The drinkability is good can: i expect to be able to find this in the basement of my house. It is very drinkable.

Review: This was a sour, gummy brew.edar malts with a bready quality, but little to no depth, brewing with a hint of dark fruit. Flavors of lemon and sugar wood with an alcohol bite as well as dry yogurt bite. Another sour brew.

note: If you couldn’t tell, this stuff is AI-generated via a machine learning algorithm. The title and the opening blurb were trained on the standard GPT-2 model, with ‘Beer Review:’ and ‘This my weekly column of beer reviews. ‘ given as prompts. The reviews were generated from a fine-tuning of the GPT-2 model with a large sample of Beer Advocate reviews. I selected from the saved samples of these and put this post together.
